PORT OF FORT PIERCE SUN TRAIL CONNECTOR SURVEY

Connector Study

The TPO is conducting a feasibility study for a critical gap in the SUN Trail and East Coast Greenway networks near the Port of Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County. The project will provide a connection across the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad corridor between the Port of Fort Pierce and US-1. The project aims to address the gap and enhance the safety and accessibility of our community’s bicycle and pedestrian pathways.

You are invited to review proposed connection alternatives and share your comments to have a significant role in our decision-making process. Help us ensure the proposed improvements align with the needs and expectations of our community by clicking here

Glades Cut Off Road From Range Line Road to Selvitz Road Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study

Public Kick-Off Meeting

Glades Cut Off Road

Key Considerations for the study includes:

  • Enhance safety
  • Increase capacity along Glades Cut Off Road to accommodate future 2045 traffic volumes
  • Enhance multimodal mobility
  • Evaluate intersections for potential signalization
  • Minimize impacts to environmental resources
  • Address planning consistency with the St. Lucie Transportation Planning Organization (TPO)
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders (HOA’s, schools, etc.) and the public

A noise study will be performed as part of this PD&E study to determine the locations potential noise barriers are needed. During the Design Phase, final noise barrier locations, if warranted, will be determined.
