FDOT DISTRICT 4 2016 SECTION 5310 GRANT WORKSHOP

The Florida Department of Transportation, District 4 will be conducting a workshop for current Section 5310 awarded agencies and prospective applicants of the 2016 Section 5310 Grant for the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities. The 2016 Section 5310 application is attached and we encourage all potential applicant agencies to attend the 2016 Section workshop. Please share/forward this notice with other agencies who may be interested in learning about the Section 5310 grant program. We will also be conducting an ADA training as part of the grant workshop. It is helpful to attend even if your agency is not planning to apply for funding in 2016. Also attached is information about both the Section 5310 workshop and the Grant Compliance Workshop for already funded agencies which will be held in December.

The Section 5310 grant is intended to enhance mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities by providing funds for programs to serve the special needs of transit-dependent populations beyond traditional public transportation services and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit services. The 2016 Section 5310 grant application of 1 original and 2 copies is due Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
Who should attend: Transit providers, community transportation coordinators, and non-profit agencies serving seniors and individuals with disabilities in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties. Attendees will receive grant application technical assistance, grant requirements and learn what vehicles are on the market. We have also invited the vehicle vendors to attend the workshop and vehicles will be on display.
It would be helpful for planning purposes, but not required, to reply to this Save the Date if you are planning to attend. Please respond with your name, agency and the number of people who will attend each workshop.
